Prometheus Online Marketing is a Slam Dunk




This blog points out that "with two viral videos, multiple interactive websites and a fan driven social media presence, Prometheus has one of the most influential social media film campaigns to date". The online marketing campaign started slow, releasing photos to the web and creating buzz through social media. An extended trailer was later screened at WonderCon, which included the name of a website that required a password. It encouraged fans to 'crack the code' in order to get access to more content. A fake Ted Talk featuring Guy Pearce was also released, which quickly went viral. This blog praises the campaign, pointing out that "creating content that forced fans to interact automatically generated discussion on a wide spectrum of media platforms". With tons of likes on Facebook and plenty of online buzz, Prometheus seems to be doing everything right.
