iCloud Movie Streaming Service, sans 20th and Universal

 I finally feel like I'm not getting screwed from iTunes

The focus of today's Apple event has been on the iPad and Apple TV but nestled away was the announcement that streaming movies are coming to iCloud. Any movie that is purchased off of iTunes from Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros. and Lionsgate can be streamed from any Apple TV or iOS device. Unfortunately 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures have decided to sit this tech out.

With the rise of streaming services such as Hulu Plus and Netflix, along with the forthcoming Ultraviolet digital locker standard, it will be interesting to see how the walled garden of iTunes will fare.

The Future of Netflix... Getting eaten by Apple?

After the Quikster fiasco of 2011, Netflix may be taking another hit in 2012 with Apple's entry into the TV Market with a new line of next-generation hi-def TVs and the possibilities of what they might do with the content end of the TV experience. Will Apple and Netflix co-exist or will Apple top Netflix in 2012?
