This article talks about the frenzy of book buying that studios are involved in after the success 'young-adult' fiction novels like the Twilight series, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games have seen recently.

Hunger Games is a Better Movie Than Harry Potter, Twilight
This article talks about how The Hunger Games is different in its adaption than Harry Potter or Twilight were. It argues that because of all the external things happening, it is better suited to be a stand alone movie for people who haven't read the books. It talks about some of the changes the film made that compensate for the first person narrative of the book and also shows the larger conflicts taking place with the Capitol that aren't delved into in the book.

"The Hunger Games" Outsells "Twilight" in Advance Ticket Sales
The first film for the highly anticipated series The Hunger Games has officially taken the number one spot for most advance ticket sales in Fandango history from Twilight.
Fandango saw the most ticket sales in the history of the company the first day that tickets went up for sale for the The Hunger Games; Fandango reports that "hundreds of Hunger showtimes are already sold out for the March 23 opening."
If this is any indication for the success of the project, I think we may be looking forward to a hugely successful franchise.

Taking Over the Young Adult Market, One Franchise at a Time
Lionsgate has bought Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million. With Summit's success with the Twilight Saga and Lionsgate's upcoming Hunger Games Trilogy, it looks like they can effectively take over the Young Adult market (The final Twilight film will be released in November, The Hunger Games in March.)
