Disney EXPECTED to lose $200 million on John Carter...Why Even Make the Movie?

John Carter, is one
of Disney’s infamous recent films. Not because of its stars or for storyline,
but because it lost about $200 million dollars in revenue through its March
release. It is ranked one of the biggest Hollywood money-loss films ever.
According to this article from CBS news, there were plenty of set ups for a sequel
in the film, but those are looking highly unlikely now. Luckily, Disney has the
release of The Avengers coming to theaters soon, as well as the film
"Brave" in June, and hopes it will make up for lost time and an extreme
loss of money.

Here is the trailer for Brave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEHWDA_6e3M&feature=related
