Box Office: Big Weekend For 'Bully' As Unrated Doc Scores 2012's Best Non-Fiction Debut

Amid the controversy over the rating for Bully, it pulled in solid numbers over its limited release this past weekend. The film was released on 5 screens in New York and LA and earned $115,000, averaging to $23,000 per screen. This is the best documentary debut of 2012 thus far in terms of per-theater-average. It will be interesting to see if the film can keep it up the strong numbers, but if the 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes is any indication, then it certainly has a chance to be the highest grossing non-fiction film of 2012.
