NPR: "Film Will Reach More Teenagers Without Rating" says Weinstein
It is apparent that The Weinstein Company's Bully has created friction in the film industry and with the MPAA. An interview on NPR with Elizabeth Blair states that the second-largest theater chain, AMC, will show the film but the third-largest, Cinemark, will not. Each chain has decided to treat the film's rating differently, which I find interesting. I didn't know that individual theaters could put their own variation on ratings. The sound bite may be brief but I feel that it is very informative. The interview can be listened to (or read) here.
