Christopher Palmeri writes in this article that "The Hunger Games" could start a trend of heroines in films. This movie was made for about $80 million and became the third-biggest opening weekend ever, as shown by my classmates' posts. This is ahead of many fanboys' favorites, like
"Spiderman 3" and the "Iron Man" movies.
In theaters for "The Hunger Games," 61% were female and 56% were over the age of 25. These people are usually not marketed towards very much. This article is suggesting things may change in Hollywood in regards to that, since a woman is making more money than Spiderman and Iron Man.
