Hunger Games Has Third Highest Opening Weekend of All Time

The Hunger Games grossed $155 million this weekend, making it the third highest opening weekend ever, behind The Dark Knight and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. After making nearly $20 million in the first night alone, it seemed that the film was guaranteed to have a record breaking weekend. With generally favorable reviews, The Hunger Games is the highest grossing non-sequel of all time, and its own sequel is scheduled to be released November of next year.
