The Hunger Games Future Direction "Not Set in Stone"

While the Hunger Games is looking to make quite a showing at next weekend's box office, the future plans for the possibly huge franchise are "Not set in stone", as producer Nina Jacobson stated to MTV News in response to the possibility of the last book being divided into two movies.

With three books in the series, there is an opportunity for the company to maximize profits on dividing the last part the series into two different movies, similar to what the Harry Potter and Twilight series have done.

It may be the smart move, as the first Harry Potter film had a revenue of $974,755,371, while the final book split into two films had a total revenue of $2,284,510,930. Could you blame them?

It will be interesting to see what route the studio decides to take, but if history tells us anything, they will likely be taking the same direction that the previously mentioned did.
