HBO will no longer supply Netflix with discounted DVDs and Blu-rays
This article from the Hollywood Reporter states that HBO will no longer supply Netflix with discounted discs out of fear that it will harm their business. Netflix can still purchase the discs, but the company will have to pay the same retail price of everyone else. The article also mentions that Netflix failed to reach a deal that would allow the company to stream HBO shows, largely due to HBO's new streaming service to customers HBO GO. It seems that the two companies have become more competitors than allies now. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings claims that the two companies are "not competing directly" but I'm not so sure.
